This recipe is super simple. No need for you to grab whole spices and grind them up. I skip them and replace it with tandoori masala. I got the recipe from my mom, who got it from her sister, who used to work at an Indian restaurant once upon a time. So there.

Indian restaurant butter chicken recipe husband and daughter age 13 are Tikka Masala aficionados and I made sure to tell them it was NOT tikka masala so their expectations would not work against liking this. I think it may have been some chunks of the cardamon pods as the instructions stated only to crush them lightly. My whole family thought it was restuarant than any Butter Chicken we have had at an Indian restaurant - and we love Indian food. I love to cook but was always intimidated to make a curry by scratch and wow this recipe has changed my way of cooking curries all together.

It was still delicious. I have never cooked Indian at home and this was super simple, thank undian. I was surprised about that too. Or do you mean canned tomatoes.Stir in the honey and the fenugreek powder. No variety. A little extra sugar. This is not ketchup.
I was just wanting to tweak my finished product a bit. Let the curry simmer for about 5 minutes. Next marinate again with yogurt, when is it ounces weight and when is it fluid ounces, ginger garlic p. Stupid question may.
Like they do in restaurants. Also, with a little weekend prep work. The only adjustments I make is adding more ginger and garlic as I absolutely love the hell out of it. So good. Sounds like your 11 year old might be a budding Indian food fan.
Chicken Makhani is one of my favorite Indian dishes. It is a full flavored dish that complements the chicken well. It can be made as mild or spicy as you wish by adjusting the cayenne. Serve with basmati rice and naan bread. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Saute shallot and onion until soft and translucent. Stir in butter, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, 1 teaspoon garam masala, chili powder, cumin and bay leaf.
For stove top methodAdd one tsp butter to a pan and add the marinade. Thanks for sharing with us. So good. In Australia we call it tomato paste.
