  1. Though students have probably studied literature in their native languages, you should review the most common English literature terms with your class before starting a literature unit. These terms include vocabulary about people: character , protagonist , and antagonist. They also include parts of the literature: setting , plot , climax and resolution. Giving your students the tools to talk about literature both increases their vocabulary and enables them to express their individual ideas and opinions once they have read the piece. 😋

  2. We all know reading is a sure way to improve your language skills. Reading helps improve your vocabulary and your grammar and exposes you to natural, authentic language. In this way they will hopefully not look at reading as studying but will be so engrossed in the story that they will forget they are learning. 😗
